Gin is said to have originated in Holland. It makes sense that Ocean’s Daughter Distillery named their classic gin after the Dutch word for mermaid. The imagination can envision this sea sprite with a brisk ocean breeze ahead and memories of the last port behind. Elysian-style gin by its nature uses less juniper and more botanical components, especially lavender since we grow so much here.
- Shaken, not stirred. Make what we call a double-oh-seven. In a shaker add equal parts Meermin gin and Nayada vodka and a tiny splash of Vermouth. Shake it hard and strain into a chilled martini glass. Add two olives as garnish.
