Oh boy! We have some cool new plants in the nursery today at Westport Winery Garden Resort. (Kind of on a binge of "booze" names for a garden in process" So check out Elaeagnus 'Olive Martini', Sedum 'Double Martini', Geum 'cocktails Alabama Slammer' and 'Cocktails Mai Tai'.
Elaeagnus 'Olive Martini' boasts vibrant foliage edged in gold creating a striking display in the sunny border. Excellent as a hedge, backdrop or specimen, Olive Martini provides sturdy structure and stable color. Full sun, Ht. 10ft, Zone 6.
Sedum 'Double Martini' Stonecrop features olive green leaves and red stems. It is a butterfly favorite and drought tolerant. Ht. 12in. Zone 4.
Geum 'Cocktails Alabama Slammer Avens has beautiful purple buds on deep purple stems that emerge in spring, and open into a stunning two-toned gold blossom with reddish orange edges. Ultra compact perennial will fit nicely in smaller gardens. Ht. 12in. Zone 5.
Geum 'Cocktails Mai Tai' Avens has semi-double apricot blossoms with ruffled edges on burgundy stems with interesting strawberry-like foliage. Easy to grow in full sun, and well draining soil. Ht. 16in. Zone 5 And best of all, it is deer resistant.
