We have four "flavors" of Armeria (Thrift) in the nursery this week: juniperifolia, maritima 'alba', maritima 'Dusseldor', and maritima 'Rubrifolia."
Armeria juniperifolia (Spanish Thrift) features a dense cushion of needle-like leaves. It has soft pink balls of flowers held just above the foliage.
Armeria maritima 'Alba' (Sea Thrift - White) is a low tufted mound of grassy green leaves with white pompom flowers.
Armeria maritima 'Dusseldorf' (Sea Thrift - Deep Pink) has dark pink flower clusters that rise above green, grass-like foliage.
Armeria maritima 'Rubrifolia'(Sea Thrift - Ruby Pink) has bright pink flower on tall spikes with beautiful, mat forming, burgundy red foliage in the winter.
All of these perennials are evergreen, they enjoy full sun and good drainage. They will keep blooming for months if you deadhead them and they are deer resistant.
