We get more questions about our New Zealand Flax than any other plant on display at Westport Winery Garden Resort. We brought them into the nursery early this season for those gardeners looking for the perfect plant. It's hard to believe but these starts will become giants in just a couple years. The bloom resembles a bird-of-paradise and is an absolute magnet to hummingbirds. The seed pods after the bloom are striking against the evergreen foliage. Also known as Phormium, these plants are deer resistant, drought tolerant and enjoy full sun. We currently have 'Mat's Merlot' and 'Rubrum' in stock. We are open daily for brunch, lunch and dinner from 8am to 7pm and until 8pm on Friday and Saturday.
