To celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the release of Nirvana’s Nevermind album, Westport Winery Garden Resort is offering their wine Nirvana for $25 on Sunday, September 25. Nirvana is their ultra-premium blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grown at Discovery Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. This wine normally retails for $50 and is described as “A magic, inviting red sunset that feels like fire.” The winery recommends you enjoy this wine I their restaurant while having a Shut The Front Door Burger and listening to Come As You Are by Nirvana.
The label features winery co-owner Carrie Roberts swimming underwater when she was six months old and living on Maui. This is the winery’s homage to the iconic album and Grays Harbor’s most influential musicians. The sculpture commemorating this wine was created by Tokeland artist Jeffro Uitto. It is a giant driftwood guitar that is a replica of the one designed by Kurt Cobain for Fender. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this wine benefits Grays Harbor PAWS.

What they call “The Mother Ship”, Westport Winery Garden Resort, is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. The resort (including the restaurant, bakery, nursery and gardens) is open daily, offering lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Their Oregon satellite location, Westport Winery TASTING @ Cannon Beach, is located at 255 N. Hemlock. This tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
