We're getting close to the end of harvest at Westport Winery Garden Resort. Today we picked just over 2 tons of Petite Sirah at Sugarloaf/Elephant Mountain Vineyard and 2.5 tons of Sangiovese at Red Willow Vineyard. We've made 17 trips to Eastern Washington so far since September 1 and have moved about 65 tons of fruit. Our target this year is 85 tons which is our biggest harvest in our ten year history putting us at about 5100 case production from this vintage (which doesn't account for our fruit wines). It's freezing now in the mornings in the vineyards and often snowing on the pass. Only four trips to go!
