Westport Winery Wins Awards From Oregon to New York

Westport Winery earned three medals at the 20th Annual Northwest Wine Summit held at Timberline Lodge in April. This competition had entries from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

Bordello Blonde, a blend of 75% Gewurztraminer and 25% Riesling from Red Willow Vineyard earned a silver medal. A portion of the proceeds from this wine is donated to the Aberdeen Museum of History. The label features original art by winery co-owner, Kim Roberts.

The winery’s most popular selection, Duckleberry Grunt, a blend of blueberries and Gewurztraminer earned a silver medal. It is so popular that at the tasting bar each bottle is wrapped in camouflage tissue so it can be hidden from friends.

Surfer’s Syrah, featuring winery co-owner, Blain Roberts on the label during his competitive surfing days, earned a bronze. In support of the safety of the local surf community some proceeds from this wine is dedicated to the South Beach Emergency Medical Services organization.

At the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition in August, the winery’s sparkling pomegranate wine, Boom Runner, earned a bronze medal. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Polson Museum in Hoquiam.
